You Da Man, Frank!

The Hog Tale would like to salute and commend Coach Frank Broyles on his 112 years of the excellent service of brilliant excellence to the University of Arkansas and in particular, the football program.

(The Hog Father)

I think the band AC/DC said it best when they screamed out,
"For those who call the Hogs, we salute you!"

(Who would have ever guessed these guys from Sydney were huge Hog fans? That's the Broyles influence)

There has been no better Hog-lover the past 50 years (seems like more doesn't it?) than Boss Hog himself, Mr. John Franklin Broyles. The former Georgia Tech star, turned Razorback coach turned Razorback athletic director left quite a legacy at the U of A following his last "official" day on the job as athletic director on December 31st.

(Whether he was your "Boss Hog" or the "white haired devil," Coach Broyles deserves every Hog-lovin' fans' respect)

Who else can consider a billionairre NFL owner, and two coaches with NCAA national championships and Super Bowl championships among their former pupils like Coach Broyles can? Throw in Joe Gibbs and Johnny Majors and there are five NCAA championships and six Super Bowl titles.

(How could you, Darrell Royal? How could you? I am about ready to punch you in the face for ending our national championship hopes. Instead, I'd like for you to c'mon ovuh for a nice juicy steak at muh house)

(Fittingly, former Razorback star under Broyles, the legendary Pat Summerall called the Cotton Bowl play-by-play for Fox. A first for the former Hog.)

(The South surrenders!)

Arguably the most powerful man in the state, Coach Broyles will remain on with the University in a fund-raising, public relations, hog-calling capacity. He may be starting to get old, but he ain't done yet.

Congratulations, and thank you Coach Broyles, on 50 years well-served.
